Information on the use of cookies

Codd&date’s website uses cookies and similar technologies to guarantee the proper functioning of procedures and improve the experience of using online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, on how they are used by Codd&date and how to manage them.

Definitions

Cookies are short pieces of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to memorise information about the client (the browser) to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or further on, even after days (persistent cookies). Cookies are memorised, according to user preferences, from a single browser onto the specific device being used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Similar technologies, such as, for example, web beacons, transparent GIF and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to gather information on user behaviour and use of services.

From now on in this document cookies and all similar technologies will be referred to by simply using the word “cookie”.

Types of cookies

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish several categories:

Cookies that are strictly necessary.

These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of Codd&date’s site and are used to manage the login and to access the reserved functions of the site. The duration of the cookies are strictly limited to the working session (once the browser is closed they are deleted). The public part of the Codd&date site can normally be used.

Analysis and performance cookies.

These cookies are used to anonymously collect and analyse the traffic and the use of the site. These cookies allow, for example, even without identifying the user, to detect if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow you to monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. The deactivation of these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality

Cookie profiling.

These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user preferences and improve their navigational experience. The Codd&date website does not use cookies of this type.

Third-party cookies.

Visiting a website you can receive cookies both from the site visited (“owners”) and from websites managed by other organisations (“third-parties”). A notable example is the presence of “social plug-ins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. It relates to parts of the page visited generated directly by these sites and integrated into the page of the host site. The most common use of social plug-ins is aimed at sharing content on social networks. The presence of these plug-ins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all the sites operated by third parties.
The Codd&date website does not use cookies of this type.

Google Analytics

Codd&date’s website also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Also in this instance these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies). Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyse anonymous information on the way the Codd&date website is used (including the IP address of the user). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it in order to prepare reports for Codd&date’s operators about the activities on the website. This site does not use (and does not allow third-parties to use) Google’s analysis tool to track or collect identifiable personal information. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google or seek to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google can also communicate this information to third-parties when required by law or where such third-parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

For more information, please refer to the link below: https://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/

The user can selectively disable Google Analytics by installing on their browser the opt-out component provided by Google. To disable Google Analytics, please refer to the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Duration of cookies

Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the closure of the browser or the execution of the logout command. Other cookies “survive” the closure of the browser and are also available for future visits. These cookies are called persistent and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases a deadline is fixed, in other cases the duration is unlimited. Codd&date does not use persistent cookies.

Cookie Management

The user can decide whether to accept cookies using the settings on their own browser.

Warning: Disabling all or part of the technical cookies can compromise the functionality of the site reserved for registered users. On the contrary, the navigation of the public content is possible even when cookies are completely disabled.

Disabling “third party” cookies does not prejudge navigability in any way.

The setting can be defined specifically for different websites and web applications. Furthermore the best browsers allow you to define different settings for “owner” and “third- party” cookies.

For example, in Firefox using the menu Tools -> Options -> Privacy, you can access a control panel where you can specify whether or not to accept the different types of cookies and proceed to remove them.

IT Strategy & Governance

The IT Strategy Advisory concerns activities of business planning and IT alignment to the company strategic governance objectives.

This includes consulting services for innovation management and definition of IT/IS Governance models. SLA/OLA Management is a core component of our services, as well as risk, financial–economic, costs/benefits analysis. Control Models, Social Networks and Big Data, IT Strategies and Security.

The Decision Support activity is oriented to help the customer in his choices and we support our customer in his Hardware and Software selection and/or in defining criteria for choosing a system integrator.

Project Management

  • Project Management/PM "as a service"
  • Project Office/PMO "as a service"
  • Training/Education
  • Project Audit, Assessment & Recovery
  • Process Assessment & Improvement

Project or Programme Assurance provides an independent and objective oversight of the likely future performance of major projects and the need to provide confidence for project or programme stakeholders of technologically advanced, high capital or high risk projects. Project assurance is in contrast with related disciplines of project management, project benchmarking, value assurance or phase–gate model and project risk assessment. It is particularly well suited for projects with a major financial decision point beyond which revisions become exceptionally expensive.

IT Governance, Risk, Compliance, Audit & Security

The IT governance is strictly linked to control policies, performance measurability and compliance.

The C&D team deals with business processes through activities of assessment, optimization, monitoring and control in accordance with the regulations. The IT risk management is particularly monitored through controls both of second level (risk/compliance) and of third level (audit). Part of our support in this area are topics related with the security of services with special focus on Cyber Security and IT Continuity.

Cyber Security is the protection of information systems from theft or damage. IT Service Continuity is part of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and encompasses IT disaster recovery planning and wider IT resilience planning. IT Service Continuity is essential in the implementation of Business Continuity, as specified in ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO 22301:2012 respectively.

IT & Data Architectures

In our experience Enterprise architecture is a well-defined practice for conducting enterprise analysis, design, planning, and implementation, for the successful development and execution of strategy.

As fundamental part of these activities, IT & Data Architecture are especially focused on defining the operational aspects both of the business strategies and of compliance needs.

Data governance ensures that data can be trusted and that people can be made accountable for any adverse event that happens because of low data quality. It is about putting people in charge of fixing and preventing issues with data so that the enterprise can become more efficient. It’s about using technology to set up processes and get help from technology to do it.

Payments Architectures & Consulting

CODD & DATE offers a long time experience in supporting financial institutions in the adoption of new standard for payment systems.

Mobile payments, peer to peer money transfer, SDD, PSD, bitcoins and blockchains and so on are changing drastically the approach to the payment systems, for retailer or large distribution players, especially in cross border or multi currencies contexts. C&D developped a specific set of skills and capabilities in order to support customers in designing solutions, identifying partners and providers, handling projects and ensuring quality assurance in this area.
